About the role The Learning andTeaching Directorate is responsible for leading thedelivery of contemporary and contextualised learning designpedagogy and assessment practice, to improve the capabilityof teachers to design meaningful and challenging learningin their local context.
The Director,Learning and Teaching will lead a multidisciplinary team,providing strategic direction to drive and ensureachievement of significant and critical operationalinitiatives, regarding:
The designof learning to enact the SA Curriculum Impactfulpedagogical practices Effectiveformative assessment approaches Theprovision of policy support to the Minister, ChiefExecutive and Executive Directors regarding SouthAustralia's contribution to national teaching andlearning initiatives.

Qualificationsand competencies: Extensiveexperience as an education leader directing programs andpartnerships for a large organisation of strategicimportance.  An appropriatetertiary qualification including post-graduatequalifications in an appropriate discipline desirable orrelevant experience. Deepunderstanding of the Areas of Impact and the implicationsfor curriculum, pedagogy and assessment. Highly developedinterpersonal and relationship building skills withdemonstrated success establishing networks and workingcollaboratively to achieve outcomes.

SpecialConditions: Thesuccessful applicant is required to gain a Department for HumanServices (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior tobeing employed which is required to be renewed every five yearsbefore expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertakeRRHAN –EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect- Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extendedcourse which will be required to be updated every threeyears.
