About the role
The Biomedical Engineering Professional Officer is responsible for providing professional and timely technology support to SA Pathology and its customer base by:
Undertaking a range of tasks involving calibration, planned and remedial maintenance of biomedical and other equipment, devices and instrumentation to appropriate standards and accurately document the results.
Contribute to developing, planning, implementing, monitoring and controlling in-service maintenance inspections of devices according to manufacturer's recommendations, Australian Standards and Engineering Services Policies, Procedures and Work Schedules.
Applying best practice principles and contributing to continuous improvement activities.
Provide technical guidance for the development of junior staff within the Biomedical Engineering team.
The Biomedical Engineering Professional Officer is a hands-on engineer who is required to exercise technical responsibilities within a multi-discipline team.

Essential Requirements:
Current National Police Clearance (NPC)
Working With Children Check (DHS)
Immunisation screening as indicated in the role description. SA Health Services are required to implement the Addressing vaccine preventable disease: Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination policy in the workplace.
Educational/Vocational Qualifications
Degree level qualification in Biomedical Engineering or similar field.
