Position Overview:
The Financial Business Analyst is accountable to the Divisional Clinical Director, MedSTAR for the provision of business services for the directorate which will include but is not limited to the effective and efficient delivery of an advisory finance support function to MedSTAR by providing effective delivery of information in managing financial performance, monitoring, reporting and analysis, effective budget development and forecasting and expert financial operational advice.
The Financial Business Analyst is responsible for the day-to-day supervision and delivery of services by the MedSTAR Administrative team.

Key Responsibilities:
Operational Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Ensure the development and implementation of improved financial reporting and budgetary management.
- Monitor budget processes and ensure deadlines are achieved.
Performance Management:
- Maintain effective relationships with stakeholders to identify opportunities for reform and evaluate financial service provision.
- Provide monthly analysis and interpretation of performance against objectives, identify variances, and advise on corrective strategies.
Planning and Analysis:
- Provide direction, recommendations, and advice on budget planning, forecasting, compliance strategies, and complex financial matters.
- Undertake financial modelling and analysis, including funding models, scenario-based options, and capital investment assessments.
Ongoing Leadership and Decision Making:
- Participate in financial governance committees and leadership meetings.
- Provide advice and direction to support decision-making aligned with objectives and resource allocation.
- Identify, influence, and lead stakeholders to promote the implementation of change initiatives and continuous improvement.
Unit Resource Management:
- Ensure appropriate management of human, financial, and physical assets.
- Foster a positive work culture based on SA Health's values, promoting customer service, learning, safety, and employee welfare.
Continuous Improvement, Quality, and Risk Management:
- Evaluate and improve the quality of services through monitoring, evaluation, reporting, and continuous improvement processes.
- Develop a culture of risk awareness and responsiveness in addressing risks.
