About the role Reporting directly to the Reservations Manager, you will process and supervise the updating of all future reservations quickly and accurately to ensure that guest expectations are anticipated and exceeded.
You will also ensure close communication between reservations and other departments in the hotel so that the information flow on all matters is timely, appropriate and effective.
To place a great emphasis on achieving the best possible yield.
Key responsibilities: Receive reservation information via telephone, GDS, email and facsimile.
Treat all enquiries individually and enthusiastically.
To enthusiastically motivate the reservations department to contribute to the hotel's profitability through upselling and utilisation of the workings of yield management.
Ensure a high degree of accuracy within the team, and manage and delegate the Arrivals Check process Monitoring and delegating 'No-Show' follow-up duties to either minimise their occurrence and/or maximise the revenue gained from these.
Assist with Rate Planning, and updating of distribution channels with a high degree of accuracy.
Ensure in conjunction with the front office and accounts that any AR setup and chargeback authorities follow hotel credit procedures and are processed and received before the Guest arrives at the hotel.
Monitor outstanding folios from a Reservations perspective and liaise with the front desk to minimise these.
