As a result, we are looking for a Rural Land Officer to join the team.
This role involves the day to day pest management activities of both plant and animal along with actively pursuing applications for grant funding for pest management in the region.
As well as the management and maintenance of stock routes.
In this busy role, your daily activities will include: Pest Management inclusive of Weed Spraying and 1080 Baiting Grant Applications Stock Route Management Facility Maintenance – Water and Forage Issuing and reviewing of Stock Route Permits Building relationships with Land Owners in the region Relief coverage to the Ranger Services as required To be considered for this opportunity, you will need to possess: Previous experience in a similar capacity; or similar roles.
Ability to exercise sound judgment in relation to enforcement procedures and local laws and other legislation.
Basic knowledge of local government functions, and relevant legislation Minimum of Queensland C class provisional driver's licence.
Relevant qualifications related to the position responsibilities or willingness to undertake training to become competent in relevant disciplines required within the Rural Land Management role.
Willing to undertake training for permits/approvals for; ACDC unrestricted licence, 1080 operators' licence, Firearms licence & First Aid.
