Join a team where your expertise will lead game-changing advancements, creating solutions that blend efficiency, scalability, and real-world impact.This role offers the opportunity to innovate at the edge of technology, work on impactful AI and IoT solutions, enjoy flexible working arrangements, collaborate with a global team, and grow as a technical leader—all while receiving competitive compensation and fostering a healthy work-life balance.Location : Sydney, AustraliaWhat You'll Do :Lead the R&D of cutting-edge face recognition systems for Edge AI devices.Monitor and enhance the performance of existing AI products, acting as the go-to expert for improvements.Stay ahead of the curve by tracking the latest trends and advancements in cloud and edge AI / ML technologies.Explore and implement state-of-the-art AI models and methodologies to enhance existing and future products.Provide strategic input on product roadmaps and business decisions from an AI / ML perspective.Develop and design robust AI solutions using both commercial and custom deep learning tools.Review and approve technical work performed by other team members.Build AI-related capabilities across engineering, operations, and business functions.What We're Looking For :Strong understanding of face recognition (DeepFace) and object detection training, with hands-on experience optimizing model architectures, backbones, and loss functions.Ability to interpret and apply insights from the latest AI research to real-world problems.Advanced analytical skills to diagnose and fix model behaviour issues through experimentation.Proficient in deep learning frameworks like TensorFlow, Keras, and PyTorch.High-level Python expertise, with C++ skills being a strong advantage.Ability to make informed decisions using benchmark data and effectively balance trade-offs.Exceptional communication skills for explaining technical AI challenges to diverse audiences.Solid mathematical foundation in areas like linear algebra, information theory, and probability.Familiarity with AWS and its integration with AI systems is highly regarded.Candidates residing in Australia are required to have Australian citizenship, Permanent Residence, or other long-term visa rights to work in Australia, and a nationality compatible with ADF procurement requirements.What's in it for you :Solve real-world challenges with diverse AI projectsFlexible working arrangements (part-time or full-time)Collaborate with a global team of innovators in Edge AIDon't miss your chance to lead and innovate.
