Burleigh Heads Rugby League Football Club – Miami QLD
The Burleigh Bears Rugby League Football Club are looking for a full-time Rugby League Development Officer. This position is responsible for promoting, developing, and growing participation in rugby league within the Gold Coast region.
This role involves engaging with schools, clubs, and community groups to increase awareness and participation in the sport. The role will include pathways and development programs for players and coaches as well as supporting talent identification in the community and pathway entry level.
This is a newly created role, and we are looking for someone who is self-motivated, enthusiastic, and able to work independently.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, implement, coordinate and support all Rugby League based activities and events in the Gold Coast region for the Burleigh Bears. Establish relationships with Gold Coast community clubs and schools and deliver rugby league clinics, training sessions, competitions and events. Lead and manage the delivery of prescribed national talent development programs (Rise) for young players and coaches. Build relationships with local stakeholders, schools, and clubs on the Gold Coast to promote rugby league and the Burleigh Bears. Implement and coordinate coach education programs to further progress development. Manage and co-ordinate Game Day programs for Burleigh Bears games. Key Selection Criteria:
Experience in a similar sports development role, ideally within rugby league or another sport with a knowledge of development pathways and grassroots structures. Rugby League Coaching accreditation (Senior Club Coach). Valid driver's license. Working With Children Check (Blue Card). Prior experience working with schools, community groups, or grassroots sports organisations. Experience working with diverse communities and understanding the specific needs of various cultural or social groups. Ability to travel within the region and flexibility in working hours, including weekends and nights. Experience with MySideline or sport database programs.
