Come shape our future with us and make a real and lasting impact across our teams.Your opportunity:We have a permanent, full-time opportunity for a RTI and Privacy Officer to join our team.The RTI and Privacy Officer's primary responsibility is to support Urban Utilities' compliance with its legislative obligations under the Right to Information Act 2009 (Qld) and Information Privacy Act 2009 (Qld). Working within the Privacy and RTI team, this role will perform the function of a delegated Right to Information Officer and contribute to the privacy improvement program at Urban Utilities, including supporting upcoming legislative change.The RTI and Privacy Officer will: Manage and process all Right to Information applications received by Urban Utilities in line with the strict timeframes set out in the relevant legislation.Respond to Right to Information and Information Privacy related complaints and provide RTI and privacy advice internally to the business (including as part of privacy impact assessments)Liaise and engage with external stakeholders including the Office of the Information Commissioner (Queensland) in relation to privacy and Right to Information matters (including responding to audit requests) in order to build positive and effective relationships.Support privacy improvement activities, as part of embedding Urban Utilities' Privacy Management Framework.About you:We are seeking candidates who are passionate about shaping our future, and ideally have the following qualifications, skills and experiences: Degree level qualifications in Public Administration, Law, Political Science, Business or other relevant disciplines (Law is desirable)Demonstrated experience in a government policy, regulatory compliance or advisory or similar role.Demonstrated experience in applying and interpreting legislation, including three years relevant decision making.Demonstrated communication and relationship management skillsAt UU, we celebrate diversity.
