Description The Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section) are actively seeking an experienced Flight Instructor - Simulator to join the team at the Bundaberg Base in a Permanent full-time capacity. The Flight Instructor – Simulator role will be 0.5 FTE, and will additionally perform as an Aeromedical Pilot for 0.5 FTE.
The role of a Flight Instructor - Simulator is to deliver professional pilot training and licensing to Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section) (RFDS) pilots and future customers of the RFDS's Part 141/142 Services. This role sets high professional standards to impart the required competencies and skillset to meet RFDS and RFDS customers' in Pilot training and licensing.
Key responsibilities
Your key responsibilities include:
Facilitate simulator and/or aircraft training as approved in the RFDS's Operations Manual suite Conduct Training and Checking functions Ensure that all operations under the RFDS Qld Section's AOC comply with the demands of the CASR 1998 (Cth), and all relevant RFDS Qld Section policies Complete projects and routine tasks in the support of the above at the direction of the HOO At the direction of and responsible to the HOO, conduct any delegated Regulatory and Compliance functions Operate as a Line Pilot when required to maintain personal standards and recency Complete all associated admin, training records and create training material to support the operation Who we are looking for? To be successful in this role you will need to possess the following:
Current Commercial Pilots Licence or Airline Transport Pilot Licence (Aeroplane) Current Command Instrument Rating (Aeroplane) (Multi-engine) with 3 renewals CASR Part 61 Flight Instructor rating CASA approved PMI or Cert 4 in Training qualification Current Class One Australian Aviation Medical Ability to Operate as a RFDS Aeromedical Pilot Demonstrated situational leadership, and logistic management ability Desirable Experience: Grade 1 FIR with MEAI, CLR MEA, DF and TR training endorsements Current or previous Flight instructor Rating Grade 1 (Aeroplane) Multi-engine (or Military equivalent) Current or previous Check Pilot (Aeroplane) Multi-engine (or Military equivalent) Turbo prop experience Why work for us?
