Central Adelaide Local Health Network The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (TQEH), Woodville Total indicative remuneration salary: MD-2 $365,798 - 713,692 p.a. (pro rata) - subject to private practice agreement Permanent part-time working 13.12 hours per week (0.35FTE) As a Geriatric Medicine Consultant with the TQEH geriatric medicine department, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality clinical care across a range of services in collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams, including:
Acute and sub-acute care Consultative services in both hospital and community settings Ambulatory and rehabilitative care Rural services You'll be responsible for overseeing comprehensive geriatric assessments and ensuring that elderly patients receive comprehensive and compassionate care tailored to their individual needs.
In addition to clinical practice, you'll contribute to the department's teaching and research activities, providing guidance to both undergraduate and postgraduate students. You'll also play an active role in quality assurance initiatives, ensuring that our services remain at the forefront of geriatric medicine.
Essential Qualifications To excel in this role, you'll have the following qualities:
Eligibility for registration as a Specialist in Geriatric Medicine with the Medical Board of South Australia, and a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians Proven leadership abilities with experience in supervising, training, and guiding medical staff, along with strong communication and interpersonal skills Demonstrated expertise in geriatric care, including rehabilitation, dementia services, and community outreach, with experience in teaching and research In-depth knowledge of quality improvement practices, public sector management, and risk and safety management in a clinical environment Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Check and compliant immunisation screening.
