$76,277 - $89,654 (plus Super) Various - ACT only Your Role Opportunities exist for highly motivated individuals to provide executive support to members of the Department of Defence's senior leadership team. The senior leadership team includes Australian Public Service (APS) Senior Executive Service (SES) employees and Australian Defence Force (ADF) Star Rank officers.A well-organised executive office is crucial to the smooth operation of the Department. With limited supervision, you will manage the office of either an SES Band 1 / One Star Officer or an SES Band 2 / Two Star Officer. This may include calendar management, preparation of correspondence, organising meetings, arranging travel, coordinating briefing packs and managing office systems and records using Microsoft Office, Objective (the Department's document management system) and Financial Management Systems. The role also provides administrative and operational support to their respective Branches and Divisions.Please note: this is a rolling-recruitment process with suitability assessments conducted regularly. If you are successful, you will be placed in a merit pool and notified as positions become available.Throughout the year, Defence may contact you to reconfirm your interest and provide any relevant information. The Executive Assistant role is a position of trust and discretion. In working directly with members of the Senior Leadership Group, it is crucial individuals are suitably skilled, professional, work well under pressure, and have strong communication skills.
Candidates will be well organised, demonstrate a high level of initiative, have the ability to manage competing priorities, work independently, as well as collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment. You will proactively anticipate the needs of your senior leader, exercise flexibility and resilience. You will have excellent time management skills, strong attention to detail, and excel at building and maintaining stakeholder relationships.Candidates will be self-aware, with a positive attitude, demonstrating consideration and respect for a diversity of ideas and perspectives of others.
