You could be one of our 3000 committed team members who are up to the challenge. About the role As the Regional Operational Employee / Team Leader, you are integral to the success of V/Line's Network Signalling and Operations team.
You will oversee the supervision of Regional Signallers and the coordination of train operations, ensuring safety, compliance, and efficiency across various regional locations such as Echuca, Seymour, Kilmore East, and Wallan.
Your leadership will guide a team of dedicated staff, managing operational and rostering duties, and ensuring V/Line's high safety standards are maintained.
Key Accountabilities include: Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of Regional Signallers across multiple locations.Work closely with the Manager Access & Co-ordination and the Supervisor Network Access & Co-ordination to ensure the seamless provision of services in line with Access Agreements.Lead safety initiatives, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, environmental management plans, and accident/incident reporting.Provide guidance for Signalling and Safeworking duties, including the safe shunting and marshalling of freight trains and wagons.Manage the rostering of Network and Access staff, ensuring compliance with schedules, safety regulations, and operational needs.Lead teams in emergency response and incident management, representing V/Line Network Signalling Operations.Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to meet customer and operational needs. About you You are an energetic and self-motivated leader with a focus on safety and operational excellence.

Our ideal candidate will possess the following: Demonstrated alignment to V/Line's values of responsiveness, integrity, impartiality, accountability, respect, leadership, and human rights.Minimum 2 years' experience in an operational managerial role, including staff management.5+ years of experience in a safe working role, with a deep understanding of rail safety and operational procedures.Proficient in Safe Working Systems, including Train Order Working, Staff and Ticket, and ABS.Computer literate and capable of using operational management tools and systems.Tertiary qualifications in Leadership/Management (desired, but not essential). This is a permanent, full-time opportunity with 4-weeks annual leave, superannuation, and free myki for metro & regional travel and is a Medical Category 1 position.
