About the Role
This is a full-time, fixed term until 31 December 2025 opportunity (flexibility available).
Salary: $61,325 - $74,611 + 11.5% superannuation.
Locations across Victoria: Swan Hill, Ouyen, Donald
The role performs a variety of road and bridge routine inspection, maintenance, and construction activities and responds to emergencies under general supervision. The incumbent will be required to perform manual labour-intensive tasks in accordance with established safety, environmental, and quality procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform a variety of roadside and structural routine maintenance and construction activities while ensuring that quality, environmental, and safety practices are observed and adhered to at all times.
Perform road pavement and drainage infrastructure maintenance works.
Construct and maintain other road and roadside furniture.
Implement traffic management plans and carry out traffic management.
Construct minor civil works and safety improvements in accordance with best practices and procedures.
Respond to emergencies under general supervision.
Operate and maintain major plant and equipment (where suitably trained or deemed competent) and perform manual labour-intensive tasks in accordance with established safety, environmental, and quality procedures.
Exercise judgement to implement changes to existing work practices, policies, and procedures that will result in business improvements in line with the business goals.
Provide guidance to less experienced team members and develop them to gain required skills whenever required.
Perform duties in a team environment being an effective and cooperating team member whilst demonstrating DTP values.
Implement Worksite Traffic Management Plans, seeking advice and escalating issues to the supervisor or team leader where new or unforeseen issues cannot be resolved independently or by the work crew.
Qualifications and Experience
Mandatory:
Current Victorian Drivers licence
Current Medium Rigid truck licence
Current licences and tickets in plant operation; traffic management, chainsaw and first aid, construction induction card.
Construction Induction White Card
Working knowledge of computer tablets/mobile devices.
Desirable:
Certificate III in Civil Construction
Understanding of Asset Maintenance Management Systems
Strong knowledge of the Road Management Plan
Strong understanding of Maintenance Specification Section 750
