The Station: Minderoo Station is located on the banks of the Ashburton River in the heart of the West Pilbara, WA.
At only 45km from the town of Onslow, there is close access to local town amenities.
With the station bordering the Exmouth Gulf there are some hidden WA gems on your doorstep, along with great social events in the surrounding region.
The Opportunity: We have a permanent, full-time opportunity for a reliable and self-motivated Road Train Driver to join our progressive team based at Minderoo Station .
You will ensure the safe and efficient transport of Harvest Road livestock and freight as required.
The role is also required to maintain the unit.
Please note: Applicants must have the right to live and work in Australia and a current valid MC licence.
Dogs are not permitted.
That this is not a FIFO role and will include extensive travel.
Key responsibilities include: Always demonstrate commitment to safe working practices and animal welfare.
Carting livestock, hay, commodities, station equipment or floating machinery as required.
Safely operate the road train across various terrain, from station tracks to major highways.
Prioritise the welfare of livestock on board at all times, and follow fit to load guidelines.
Carry out daily pre-start checks, basic repairs and maintenance, and report faults.
Maintain clean and tidy vehicles.
Make clear and accurate entries in log books, following all audit requirements around WHS, speed, fatigue and maintenance programs.
Our ideal candidate will have: Valid MC Licence.
Strong focus on safety and animal welfare.
Clean driving record.
Good problem-solving skills, with ability to diagnose faults and defects to relay to mechanic.
Good initiative, communication and work ethic.
Previous livestock carting experience.
Pass a National Police Clearance and pre-employment medical assessment, including a truck safe medical.
Possess sufficient fitness level to carry out required tasks.
