We seek to appoint a Road Corridor Permits Assessor for our client, Australia's largest local government authority.
ASAP for an initial six month period with possible extensionFast paced traffic operations environmentThe position, starting ASAP, will be for an initial six month period with possible extension.
Reporting to the Road Corridor Permits Manager, the primary purpose of this role is to:
Assist with the planning, coordination and implementation of temporary traffic management schemes, evaluation of road corridor applications, and traffic management arrangements.Provide technical support to Brisbane City Council staff, customers, stakeholders and external authorities on temporary traffic management matters, in accordance with relevant legislations and guidelines.The key skills required include:
Demonstrate customer focus by treating all customers with honesty, fairness, sensitivity, and dignity.Work collaboratively with team leaders to meet performance standards and expectations, providing and receiving feedback for continuous improvement.Evaluate and approve applications for road corridor activities.Assist in planning and organising road corridor activities.Negotiate with government agencies, specifically Queensland Police Service, for planning, approval, and coordination of road corridor activities.Provide advice on traffic matters adhering to relevant laws and regulations.Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders for road corridor permits.Manage billing and invoicing tasks related to road corridor applications.The role would suit someone with experience in the principles of traffic management, road safety and driver behaviour. Qualifications in a technical or professional discipline relevant to the position would be highly advantageous.
