Job Description As part of our growth we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Risk Management and OH&S individual to join our team. The ideal candidate will have tertiary qualifications in Risk Management or OH&S management, or significant experience in a similar role. This role requires a proactive individual with a strong ability to lead and drive a safety culture within complex and event management environments.
Candidates will be expected to work outside business hours to accommodate events and may also include working additional hours during event periods. You will be part of a roster to ensure a healthy work life balance.
About the role: Lead and promote a strong safety culture across all levels of the organisation. Conduct comprehensive OHS audits and risk assessments to identify potential hazards. Develop and implement effective incident management protocols, ensuring timely response, thorough investigation, and compliance with regulatory reporting requirements. Design and execute preventative strategies aimed at minimizing workplace safety risks. Communicate safety policies and procedures effectively through excellent written and negotiation skills. Solve problems and resolve conflicts related to safety issues promptly and efficiently. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance safety measures and outcomes. Manage multiple objectives within strict timelines and handle conflicting demands with professionalism. Maintain professional relationships with external organisations, including regulatory bodies and industry partners. Focus on continuous improvement and ensure quality control in all safety-related processes. Demonstrate self-motivation and the ability to work independently with a high degree of initiative. Desired Skills and Experience What we are looking for:
If you have tertiary qualifications in Risk Management, OH&S management, or equivalent significant experience with proven experience in leading and driving a safety culture within complex and event management environments, this is a great career opportunity.
Candidates must be proficient in conducting thorough OHS audits and risk assessments, knowledge of incident management protocols, including response, investigation, and regulatory reporting as well as skilled in developing and implementing strategies to minimize workplace safety risks.
In addition we are seeking individuals with excellent written and negotiation communication skills, strong problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
Organisational Compliance:
All employees must maintain a current Working with Children Check and be available to work the 11 days of the Melbourne Royal Show, including flexible rostering with varying hours to accommodate event timings. Additional hours may be required during event periods.
