Risk & Quality Advisor

The Risk & Quality Advisor is responsible for enhancing practice in community services including mental health and disability, through quality assurance and improvement activities.
Key Responsibilities

Initiate and conduct internal risk-based audit activities in accordance with the Three Lines Model of Assurance to support assurance of legislative, regulatory, contractual, and organisational requirements.
This would include the development and review of audit tools as required.
Use the assurance model to identify potential or actual practice gaps and practice improvement opportunities.
Management of customer and client data to allow oversight on our complex customers' needs and training requirements.
Prioritise, design, implement and monitor quality and practice improvement activities including on site activities, leader inductions to the safety and quality team and practice forums.
Monitor and report on feedback, quality assurance and risk activities and trends to ensure appropriate mitigation strategies are actioned.
Conduct data analysis and contribute to the development of reports to support risk and quality performance outcomes.
Develop and/or review policies and procedures to ensure legislative compliance and to reflect current operational practice standards.
Participate and assist with the coordination of external quality audits conducted by external certifying and accreditation agencies.
Key Selection Criteria/Qualifications

Relevant tertiary qualifications and experience in risk and quality management, and human services sector e.g.
behaviour support practitioner, allied health professional, social worker, registered nurse etc.
Knowledge and experience relevant to quality standards such as the NDIS Practice Standards, National Standards for Mental Health Services and Aged Care Quality Standards.
Demonstrated experience in the ability to audit compliance with legislation and standards.
A collaborative working style with the ability to influence and foster positive functional relationships.
Ability to educate and build capability with risk and quality activities across the business.
Strong analytical ability, with the inherent skills to manipulate data to identify trends and prepare concise, credible recommendations in a digestible format to support organisational monitoring and reporting.
Experience and ability to utilise and work with Risk and Quality systems, including RiskMan, and identify system and process improvements to streamline the administrative effort across these functions.
