The Project Accountant will work closely with the Project Director and Project Managers in maintaining the financial functions within the project to ensure the integrity and transparency of financial data to facilitate planning and decision making.
The role requires someone with strong business acumen to partner and collaborate with key members of the project teams to develop cost tacking processes, analyse and report on variances to forecast and provide support in the completion claims, variations and future bid/tender opportunities Skills and experience Minimum of 5+ years of project accounting experience, ideally overseeing large and/or complex construction projects A relevant tertiary qualification A professional accounting certification (CA/CPA or equivalent) Strong understanding of revenue recognition accounting principles relating to construction contracts.
Familiarity with Workbench Project Management Software is an advantage Commercial awareness and acumen Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the capacity to convey financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders A collaborative approach and ability to engage with diverse teams and stakeholders
