Our Independence team consists of designated senior Independence Specialists who consult on and approve non-assurance engagements to be delivered to clients that are subject to US independence regulations. We help the firm, its partners and staff manage a range of regulatory and professional requirements to ensure the firm's independence from audit and assurance clients, blending technical skills and strategy to advise our internal functions and teams with spectacular results. And our team is expanding. We're looking for Risk and Ethics - Independence - Manager to manage the Centre of Excellence (COE) workflow as appropriate, along with other managers and senior managers on the team within our vast community of solvers.
Use the know-how you've gained in Audit, Legal, Tax or Compliance. With new problems to solve, you'll have plenty of support and opportunities to grow. We work from anywhere, so your strong communication skills and team ethos will get a workout. You'll learn plenty as you work alongside more senior and experienced team members to gain experience towards becoming a globally recognised "Independence Specialist" within the PwC network in a workplace that's human-led and tech-enabled.
As an expert in Independence, you'll solve problems by delivering training to the Consulting, Tax, and Assurance businesses on Independence issues relevant to their work.
In our Independence team, you'll also:
Work with client facing engagement teams from Australia, NZ and other countries in the AsiaPacific region by:
Enabling them to scope engagements that will bring value to their clients while also complying with the relevant independence rules.
Reviewing their engagement documentation.
Assisting them to interpret and understand the relevant independence rules and to reflect these appropriately.
Attend training sessions (both locally and globally) to develop a strong independence knowledge base.
Work alongside more senior and experienced team members to gain experience towards becoming a globally recognised "Independence Specialist" within the PwC network.
Provide support and coaching to more junior team members.
Assisting with other areas of the Independence team as required.
More About You You have solid experience working in a professional role with an Audit, Legal, Tax or Compliance background. No previous Independence experience is necessary. We will provide thorough training in both a formal and informal capacity. We are a dynamic and collaborative team who will support your learning and experience as you develop in your role.
Your analytical and communication skills, focus on client service and ability to work with teams in a matrix organisation will be crucial in this role.
You are skilled in applying complex legislative, regulatory and policy requirements to a range of facts and circumstances, and can take the next step to provide practical solutions in novel scenarios.
You are commercially aware and have the willingness to work with the client facing business to provide practical and timely advice. Your excellent interpersonal skills will enable you to manage stakeholders effectively. Your capacity to learn, drive to succeed and dedication to quality will be key parts of the role.
