Your Role We are hiring for a Risk Engineer! This role is instrumental in improving our customers' risk profiles and directly contributes to the profitability and sustainability of our business. Conducting detailed site inspections, analysing risks, and reporting your findings; you'll negotiate with customers to improve their risk management strategies and ensure business continuity.
You'll truly own the space, enjoying travel and the flexibility of managing appointments with passionate business owners. This is a brilliant opportunity where you'll be at the forefront of risk management. You'll also play a pivotal role in supporting our underwriters.
Based in Naarm (Melbourne), this permanent full-time opportunity offers hybrid working conditions.
The Role & Responsibilities Completion of onsite risk surveys for commercial and industrial properties, focusing on:
Provide loss prevention risk engineering reportsUndertake ongoing risk management of insured customers to improve their risk profileProvide general technical support to assist Underwriting staff, partners, and customersUndertake desktop reviews and risk analysis of third-party reports to assist underwritersOn Offer Joining IAG you'll have access to:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (any discipline)Experience in the insurance industry whilst desirable, is not essential for this role as training will be provided where requiredPrevious post-graduate experience (in any areas of engineering) with the ability to demonstrate a high level of technical knowledge and skillsProficient in performing risk evaluations and detailing mitigation strategiesAdaptable with demonstrated ability to work autonomouslyYou are an effective communicator with strong written and verbal communication skillsAustralian citizenship / permanent residency in AustraliaAbout Us IAG is part of the largest general insurance group in Australia and New Zealand.
