About the Role We have a small but mighty Risk and Compliance team that provides timely advice and oversight of our fast-moving business to ensure we innovate and expand our business in a risk-appropriate and compliant manner.
We are expanding the team and looking for an early-career officer to join and help deliver our mission.
Responsibilities Help foster a strong risk and compliance culture to support Brighte's Social Licence to Operate and help to administer Brighte's Compliance Strategy and Framework including compliance advice, training, assurance, and reporting activities.Assist with developing and enhancing first line compliance monitoring and control testing.Conduct second line compliance testing.Provide advice and insight around the management of compliance and risk issues to Brighte's businesses, while developing, maintaining, and revising policies and procedures for the general operation of the compliance framework to prevent illegal, unethical, or improper conduct.Help with the production of materials for the Brighte Risk and Compliance Committee and the Brighte boards.Manage regulatory inquiries, returns, and lodgements and ensure effective tracking and management of risk incidents, including the coordination of investigations and corrective actions.Conduct testing of risk controls to assess their effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.Maintain the Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) system, including updating records, managing user access, and configuring system functionalities as required. About You 2+ years' experience in a compliance-related role with an AFSL and/or ACL holder.You have experience in providing compliance advice and guidance about regulated and unregulated credit products, and/or financial products and services regulated by the Corporations Act.Experience working for a fintech is highly advantageous.You have well-developed knowledge around relevant financial services and credit laws and industry codes is highly regarded, including:The ASIC Act, NCCP Act and Code, and Consumer Law;Privacy Act, AML/CTF, Sanctions, and Anti-Bribery and Corruption;Industry codes including the AFIA BNL Code of Practice.You have exceptional analytical skills with problem-solving, interpretation, and attention to detail capabilities, coupled with a focus on continuous process improvement and excellence.You are highly organised, proactive, and can work well autonomously.
