The RAC Insurance Risk and Compliance Team is a Line 2 team who support the RAC Insurance business.

As a Risk & Compliance Advisor you will provide advice, guidance and oversight enabling RAC Insurance to enhance its risk management and compliance practices, for the better of our members.

You will assess and investigate reported incidents including their impact on our regulatory obligations, identifying potentially reportable breaches, conducting control testing and key risk indicator monitoring and recommending control improvements.

This role is offered on an initial 18 month contract.

The core accountabilities and activities include:
Completing incident triage to understand potential compliance or operational impact of reported incidentsCoordinating incident investigations to ensure all potential members and scenarios relating to an incident are identifiedAccurately capturing all data relating to the incident investigation in the risk management systemIdentifying and implementing improvement opportunities to enhance compliance and operational processIdentifying and escalating material or systemic incidentsProviding advice and guidance to resolve systemic incidents through issue management and control upliftProviding oversight on incident and issue closure to ensure effective remediationConduct independent testing on key controls, documenting the outcome in the risk management system and providing feedback to the control ownerMonitoring of key risk indicators and updating as requiredSupporting the ongoing enhancement of a strong risk culture by educating and guiding stakeholders on risk management and responsibilitiesContinuously learning, enhancing personal risk and compliance knowledge as well as sharing existing knowledge with othersAssisting the broader Risk and Compliance team as required. About you You will have a natural commitment to put our members at the centre of everything you doPrevious experience in risk/compliance management or a governance related fieldSound knowledge of regulatory issues affecting the insurance and financial services industryExperience applying regulatory frameworks to assess day to day operationsAbility to research and review obligations and convert into practical requirementsAbility to work autonomously, manage a diverse workload and meet competing deadlinesAn analytical mind with the ability to see complexities of procedures and regulations and present practical solutionsStrong relationship management skills and ability to communicate clearly with senior internal stakeholdersSound analytical, interpretive, and problem-solving skillsKnowledge of APRA standards and ASIC regulatory guides including RG78 Breach Reporting requirements is considered highly advantageous What can we offer you?
