Position: Risk and Assurance Officer
The City of Ballarat is currently seeking a Risk and Assurance Officer.
This role will partner with City of Ballarat business units to support risk management and the delivery of the internal audit program.
The role will ensure the effective performance of City of Ballarat's Audit and Risk Committee.

The Role
Reporting to the Senior Risk Officer, this position partners with business units within the City of Ballarat to identify, manage, and report on risk and facilitate the completion of internal audits and recommendations.
The role is responsible for contributing to and coordinating the timely preparation and distribution of high-quality reports to City of Ballarat's Audit and Risk Committee while ensuring that the Committee is meeting its legislative obligations.
Working in a dynamic and varied environment with a collaborative and fun team, we deliver a high-quality audit and assurance function to the City of Ballarat.
We are looking for an organised and collaborative individual with well-developed expertise in risk management, audit management, and/or assurance.
You are well-known for your ability to communicate and partner with stakeholders to gain cooperation and achieve outcomes.
You have a well-developed ability to analyse and critically consider information to provide advice, recommendations, and options to stakeholders.
You are comfortable managing competing priorities with a positive attitude and a commitment to continuous improvement and managing risk.
Qualifications and Experience
Degree or diploma course in risk management/audit/assurance/compliance or related field with relevant experience, preferably in the local government sector.
