About the role: Our Risk Advisory Service provides tailored risk management advice and education to doctors who are Avant members, as well as internal stakeholders and the broader medical community. We are seeking a Risk Adviser to join our Sydney team on a 12 month secondment. This unique role will see you delivering our Risk Advisory Service through practitioner risk assessments, practice risk assessments, educational content, proactive measures to reduce claims and attending at events.

The key responsibilities include: Delivery of risk advisory services to our members to improve the quality, safety and professionalism of medical practiceDevelop and present medico-legal risk management content at eventsRepresent Avant in a manner consistent with Avant's member engagement valuesHelp build efficiency of risk advisory services process and align with Avant prioritiesEngage with internal stakeholders to identify areas of risk and develop strategies to reduce potential claims exposureProactively engage with Medical Professionals and Practices to highlight areas of concern and implement strategies to mitigate potential risks.Skills and experience required: Tertiary qualification in a health-related fieldExtensive experience as a Practice Manager, Nurse or Health Management in a tertiary hospital settingPrevious demonstrated experience working in a clinical, practice or other healthcare environmentPrevious exposure to evaluating and managing clinical quality and safetyUnderstanding of risk assurance principlesExcellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbalStrong relationship management and influencing skillsUnderstanding of current health legislation and ability to work proactively with doctors, societies and practices to understand risksFor further information, please contact Sue Allen, Talent Acquisition Business Partner on 0429 404 856.
