The Seed Treatment division treats their own exclusive range of vegetable varieties and provides seed treatment services for grower customers. It was established to enhance the performance and resilience of agricultural seeds by applying innovative seed technologies, leading to a better crop result.
The service is treating an exclusive range of seed varieties with beneficial materials like chemical, fertiliser or biological agents, incorporating them uniformly through crusting, pelleting and film coating processes. This improves seed germination, stimulates healthy development to ultimately maximise the seeds potential and increase crop yields.
Recent investment in the state-of-the-art drying facility refines accurate application of materials ensuring quality assurance targets are met for treated seed lots. Along with increased demand, this is enabling additional capacity, with an opportunity to develop the market.
The Role Reporting to the Managing Director, a new role has been created, Product Development Manager – Seed Treatment . The role will provide support for both the Production and Sales divisions and drive business development utilising various innovative seed treatment products.
The focus is on expanding and promoting i.e. bringing in new business and developing new products. This requires the ability to problem solve, use initiative and take a hands-on active approach to management.
You will be responsible for:
Providing oversight and management of seed treatment and value add activities Driving new business and developing new products Working closely with key sales and production / operations staff to identify market opportunities Technical, budgeting, planning and customer service Oversee quarantine and other disease management protocols Engaging farmers and Field visits to assess trials and evaluate opportunities The Person To be successful in this hands-on role you will have:
Business experience Tertiary science education and willingness to learn Agricultural product development experience Importantly seed treatment experience is not essential for this role, as you will be trained on the job. More important is the desire to work with seed, with capacity to understand and learn the processes. This is your chance to step into a role and grow the market share.
The role is located in Griffith, NSW at the seed treatment facility.
