The MinRes Energy team plays a critical role in advancing our Roadmap to Net Zero emissions and works across the business to ensure our operations integrate lower emission and renewable energy solutions into our growth and development plans.
The Role
MinRes Energy is looking for an experienced Rig Mechanic for the MinRes 100% owned LOC400 drilling rig. Ideally commencing ASAP, this is a brand-new role joining our Energy team on a 3 weeks on / 3 weeks off roster. The Rig Mechanic will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, testing, and commissioning of equipment on the LOC405 rig.

Ensure that all rig equipment within area of responsibility is maintained in accordance with the Companies Preventative Maintenance System (PMS), original equipment manufacturers' equipment operating manuals, and applicable legislation.
Provide preventative, routine, and non-routine maintenance and repair of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment and systems of the drilling rig, camp, and other contractors.
Report to and assist the Rig Manager where directed.
Carry out inspections of drilling rig unit and ensure compliance with all legislative requirements.
Input, update, and follow up with hazard, behavioral observations, and incident registers.
Promptly report any damaged equipment which cannot be repaired with resources available on site.

What you will bring to the team

Trade qualified Heavy Diesel Fitter/Heavy Vehicle mechanic/Fixed plant mechanic
Experience working as a mechanic in rig operations
Knowledge of Australian standards, API specifications, and petroleum regulations
Current First Aid certificate
Working at heights certification
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Strong understanding of drilling operations and equipment
Working knowledge of Australian safety standards and regulations
