With the presence of data centres growing across the country, we are seeking a skilled and passionate Ribbon Splicer to join our expanding Sydney team on a full-time, permanent basis.
Job DescriptionDay to day, you can expect:
The splicing of ribbon and single core fibre optic cabling across different sites.Installation and connection of enterprise IT and computer equipment (cabling, looming, patching, testing and commissioning).Installation and commissioning of fibre and copper telecommunication cabling.To work within a live data centre environment, with a focus adhering to well-defined procedures and HSEQ practices.To be able to actively contribute your technical experience and expertise with a team of professional, skilled technicians and apprentices.About You You will:
Be a skilled ribbon splicer with experience splicing multiple cable types including hire core count fibre cables.Have experience splicing for telco providers and/or data centres and/or hyperscalers (highly preferable).Have extensive experience with OLTS and OTDR testing.Bring vast experience in cable preparation to suit all fibre cable, fobot and fibre cassette types.Be able to work as part of a team or autonomously.Hold a current ACMA cabling licence, with endorsements in structured and fibre optics, as well your White Card.Or be an Electrician with current licencing valid in NSW.Have expertise in technical telecommunications installations, specialising in cabling, looming, patching, testing and commissioning.Be confident in working within secure environments with a focus on process and safety.Have experience in the installation of network equipment, an understanding of network topology and the skills to complete high end data centre telecommunication fibre optic cabling installations.Be willing to be a part of an on-call roster if required.Already hold or be eligible to obtain your baseline/NV1 security clearance.Showcase proactive problem-solving skills, exceptional attention to detail and always have focus on health, safety, environment and quality.What's in it for you?
