(pro rata) + Superannuation and Salary Sacrifice BenefitsTemporary up to 30/6/25 and part-time working 22.50 hours per weekAbout the Role We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Rheumatology Grant-Funded Scientist to support the ongoing research activities of our Rheumatology Unit. In this diverse role, you will be responsible for maintaining local and national rheumatology patient databases and biobanks, playing a key part in the smooth operation of various research projects. Your tasks will include tissue sample processing, storage and documentation, as well as applying molecular and protein biology laboratory techniques and data entry to support high-quality research outcomes.
This is an exciting opportunity to be actively involved in all stages of clinical studies, from ethics submissions and reporting to participant recruitment, data collection, and analysis. You will also contribute to the preparation of research presentations and manuscripts, showcasing your findings. Collaboration is at the heart of this role, requiring strong interpersonal and organisational skills, as well as the ability to work independently and across multiple disciplines. About You We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Rheumatology Grant-Funded Scientist to join our research team. To be successful in this role, you will need to meet the following key requirements:
Qualifications & Experience: A degree in medical or biological sciences (preferably with honours) and demonstrated research experience, including collaborative projects with scientific and medical teams.Technical Skills: Proficiency in protein and molecular biology laboratory techniques, along with experience using computer-based programs, spreadsheets, and statistical packages.Communication & Problem-Solving: Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work independently.Research Knowledge: A solid understanding of human research ethics, medical research fundamentals, and good laboratory practices, combined with a passion for advancing scientific research.About CALHN The Central Adelaide Local Health Network includes South Australia's major quaternary facility, the Royal Adelaide Hospital, The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, the Hampstead Rehabilitation Centre, and the Repat Health Precinct.
