Utilise your administration and reviewing expertise to provide support and advice to the Courts Civil and Criminal Law branch.Fixed-Term (until the 30/06/2025), Full-Time opportunity to work with a high-performing and passionate team in the Victorian Public Service.VPS Grade 3: $76,817 - $93,274 plus superannuation.About Us:Courts, Civil and Criminal Law is part of the Department of Justice and Community Safety and supports the Attorney General to deliver courts, civil and criminal law policy responsibilities.
Courts, Civil and Criminal Law supports 28 independent legal entities across the justice portfolio, working collaboratively across the justice system.
The group also supports Civil and Enforcement Services (CES), which includes Fines Victoria and Sheriff's Office Victoria.Enforcement and Support Services (ESS) is a branch of CES and manages the administration and enforcement of infringement and court fines across the state.
The role of the CES unit includes providing advice to the Attorney-General and the government on infringements policy, scrutinising all proposals to introduce new infringement offences or review existing infringements, and providing information to stakeholders (including enforcement agencies) on the operation of the infringements system.About the Role:The Review Officer will work within Enforcement and Support Services, which is a branch of Civil and Enforcement Services.
Review Officers primarily deal with applications submitted by members of the public seeking a review of registered infringement fines, and applications for payment arrangement.ESS supports the behaviour and work that exemplify our CARE Ways of working - Collaborative, Accountable, Respectful and Engaged - these principles form the foundation of our success.Some of your duties will include:Exercising professional judgement regarding the application of Standards of Service and other relevant rules, policies and guidelines to assist in the day-to-day operations of Fines Victoria, including the determination of payment arrangements and enforcement review applications and handling general enquiries.Providing accurate and timely advice and liaise with other Fines Victoria units, enforcement agencies, and other interested parties on infringement and other matters arising within the jurisdiction of Fines Victoria.Performing administrative and other functions as required.About You:As an ideal candidate, you will possess:An understanding of the infringement lifecycle, the Infringements Act 2006 and the Fines Reform Act 2014, or experience in the practical application of other legislation or policies.Competent use of Microsoft Office and relevant IT systems and applications.Qualifications:A tertiary qualification in a relevant field or relevant experience is desirable.How to Apply:Please click the Apply button on this advertisement.
