The Bureau is seeking a high performing EL1 to support the Finance, Asset and Operations team, working with the Chief Finance Officer (CFO) Enterprise Services Group. The role will: Assist with the financial statements, required accounting position papers, associated audit process and clearance through relevant internal committees. Provide support for month end processing and timetable management. Assist with month end balance sheet reconciliations. Manage the Bureau's Revenue Register. Drive compliance for appropriate revenue recognition in accordance with relevant accounting standards. Work closely with the Finance, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Purchasing Cards and Treasury teams. Lead the management and accounting for the Bureau's assets and lease portfolio. Assist the Bureau in managing the financial governance framework to support financial compliance, statutory requirements, and operational outcomes.

The Bureau is undergoing significant reform in the Finance space. Your ability to implement, drive and adapt to change is instrumental in supporting the Bureau in its drive for continuous financial improvement and best practice. The key duties of the position include: Develop a policy and process to manage the Bureau's revenue arrangements, in collaboration with the Costing and charging team. Manage the Bureau's Contract Revenue Register. Monitor revenue accounting compliance with relevant revenue accounting standards. Assistance with preparation of the financial statements, required accounting position papers, associated audit process and internal committee support. Support delivery of month end processes. Preparation of month end balance sheet reconciliations. Support the leadership team to build a climate of continuous improvement to ensure high quality delivery within the Finance and Operations team. Monitor compliance with the Bureau's governance framework, supporting financial compliance, statutory requirements, and operational outcomes. Comply with all Bureau work, health and safety policies and procedures, and take reasonable care for your own health and safety and that of employees, contractors and visitors who may be affected by your conduct. Oversight/management of other financial reporting functions as required.

Qualifications and Experience Be appropriately qualified (CA/CPA or equivalent) with strong financial management experience within a commonwealth government context.Experience with the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability (PGPA Act) 2013 and managing financial resources in a Commonwealth Government setting.Demonstrated experience in and knowledge of SAP would be advantageous.
