About The Role:
We have an exciting role available within our Skechers Buying team on a 12 month parental leave contract.
As our
Skechers Buyer , you will be responsible for the selection, purchasing and delivery range strategy for assigned brands within Accent Group.
To ensure maximum profitability in line with company vision, divisional purpose and brand positioning in consultation with Head of buying.
You will be consumer focused and financially sound to build the relevant product plans within your portfolio to meet the business targets and company vision.
This is the ideal role for an experienced Buyer within the retail industry in apparel or footwear.
You will be required to build strong relationships with both internal teams and suppliers to achieve the outcomes of the role.
Your key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Deliver against financial targets for assigned brands
Maximise sales and profitability through item planning, class planning and markdown management in conjunction with planning
OTB management in conjunction with Planner
Lead the assortment process ensuring brand/s import/vertical ranges are built in line with range architecture
Analysis of category performance, macro market (domestic and international), direct competitor, customer and store feedback and trends to build deep understanding of the customer and the business
Negotiate best financial cost for all product
Drive operational efficiency through effective seasonal range planning and review process, ensuring adherence to divisional timelines and direction
Analyse market trends and sales potential to manage inventory control
Participate in planning and advertising in support of existing products to determine sales tactics to achieve budget objectives in line with Marketing Strategy set by Head of Buying and Head of Planning
Ensure all business activities comply with relevant Acts, legal demands and ethical standards
Build seasonal introduction training & VM directive to deliver to retail team
Build, lead and develop high performance team capable of delivering current and future organizational strategies
Provide leadership and direction to team, ensuring the desired behaviours, attitudes and work practices are understood and consistent with Accent Group values and standards
What we are looking for:
Demonstrated previous experience in a similar retail buying role ideally with retail apparel or footwear
A passion for driving sales and achieving profit margins
The ability to manage and maintain multiple supplier relationships
Proficient in Excel – analysing data and managing reports
Excellent attention to detail and ability to communicate with various stakeholders at all levels
Ability to create, plan, monitor and execute multiple reports
Excellent time management and organisation skills to manage multiple priorities
Ability to problem solve and take initiative
