As our Skechers Buyer, you will be responsible for the selection, purchasing and delivery range strategy for assigned brands within Accent Group. To ensure maximum profitability in line with company vision, divisional purpose and brand positioning in consultation with Head of buying. You will be consumer focused and financially sound to build the relevant product plans within your portfolio to meet the business targets and company vision.
This is the ideal role for an experienced Buyer within the retail industry in apparel or footwear. You will be required to build strong relationships with both internal teams and suppliers to achieve the outcomes of the role.
Your key responsibilities include but are not limited to: Deliver against financial targets for assigned brandsMaximise sales and profitability through item planning, class planning and markdown management in conjunction with planningOTB management in conjunction with PlannerLead the assortment process ensuring brand/s import/vertical ranges are built in line with range architectureAnalysis of category performance, macro market (domestic and international), direct competitor, customer and store feedback and trends to build deep understanding of the customer and the businessNegotiate best financial cost for all productDrive operational efficiency through effective seasonal range planning and review process, ensuring adherence to divisional timelines and directionAnalyse market trends and sales potential to manage inventory controlParticipate in planning and advertising in support of existing products to determine sales tactics to achieve budget objectives in line with Marketing Strategy set by Head of Buying and Head of PlanningEnsure all business activities comply with relevant Acts, legal demands and ethical standardsBuild seasonal introduction training & VM directive to deliver to retail teamBuild, lead and develop high performance team capable of delivering current and future organizational strategiesProvide leadership and direction to team, ensuring the desired behaviours, attitudes and work practices are understood and consistent with Accent Group values and standardsWhat we are looking for: Demonstrated previous experience in a similar retail buying role ideally with retail apparel or footwearA passion for driving sales and achieving profit marginsThe ability to manage and maintain multiple supplier relationshipsProficient in Excel – analysing data and managing reportsExcellent attention to detail and ability to communicate with various stakeholders at all levelsAbility to create, plan, monitor and execute multiple reportsExcellent time management and organisation skills to manage multiple prioritiesAbility to problem solve and take initiativeAffiliation with Accent Group Core values and "Make It Happen" attitudeAt Accent Group Limited we are committed to creating an inclusive workplace that promotes and values diversity and inclusion.
