Pay: AUD 73,150.00 per year
JOB PURPOSE STATEMENT
Double Tree by Hilton Alice Springs is hiring a full-time Retail Buyer / Purchasing Manager. The core responsibilities of this position are to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the Purchasing department by sourcing and procuring items required by management at competitive prices without compromising quality. Additionally, the role involves monitoring sales performance, analyzing trends, and reporting on stock levels to support effective purchasing decisions and maintain optimal inventory levels.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As the Retail Buyer/ Purchasing Manager, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

Handle purchase requests and carry out market research and comparisons.
Co-ordinate, efficiently and effectively, all aspects of product / item sourcing, purchasing and stock control and monitoring.
Select appropriate suppliers and develop criteria in terms of quality, regularity of supply and price.
Ensure all products are handled, stored, and issued in compliance with QA and HACCP guidelines to maintain quality and safety standards.
Negotiate and procure products at the best possible prices and regularly report on inventory levels and commitments.
Assist in tracking top selling items, monitoring of cost of sales and the analysis and reporting trends, variations and shortfalls.
Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to maintain adequate stock levels and meet business needs.
Implement effective stock rotation practices and minimize spoilage and waste through diligent inventory management.
Conduct regular stocktakes to ensure inventory accuracy and resolve any discrepancies promptly.
Track all contracts, maintain and update the Hotel contract register, and ensure full compliance.
Track and control all areas of Stores and Purchasing with regular reporting, ensuring full compliance to Hilton policies and procedures.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
A Retail Buyer / Purchasing Manager serving Hilton Brands is always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members. To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviours, skills, and values that follow:

College graduate.
Proficiency, at an advanced level, with computers and computer programs, including Microsoft programs (Excel and Word).
Demonstrated knowledge of purchasing, ordering, storage, sales, and cost control.
Demonstrated trust and integrity in dealing with cash, payments and financial reporting.
Previous procurement experience in a Hotel or Hospitality environment is desirable.
Knowledge of computerised purchasing and stock control systems, such as Birch Street.
Demonstrates positive involvement and interaction with the overall Hilton team.
Knowledge of industry in general with particular emphasis on revenue and profitability maximisation techniques.
Maintain a high customer service focus by approaching your job with the customers always in mind.
High attention to detail, flexible and efficient.
Fluent in the English language in order to communicate professionally with suppliers and team members of all levels.
