About the Opportunity This is a permanent part-time opportunity working 28 hours/week and will be based at Newpin in Bidwill.
Flexibility to work 28 hours/week across 4 or 5 consecutive days.
We are looking for an innovative and capable Play Facilitator to join our Newpin team in Bidwill.
You will provide therapeutic play opportunities in a group setting to support families in their journey towards restoration.
Working in the Newpin playroom alongside our playroom team, you will support parents and children to develop healthy attachments, provide opportunities to build on emotional and social development, and support parents to guide behaviours and self-regulation.
Who we are The Newpin program specializes in supporting parents to work towards having their children safely returned to their care.
About you in the role Facilitate therapeutic play sessions for parents and children (0-5 years)Support the development of positive parent-child relationshipsProvide strategies to guide children's behaviour and help with self-regulationImplement trauma-informed practices in a safe and nurturing environmentCollaborate with the team to create stimulating, educational play programsAbout You Tertiary qualification (minimum Diploma) in a relevant field with experience working with children (0-5 years)Strong understanding of trauma-informed practice and attachment theoryExperience in developing therapeutic relationships and managing challenging behavioursAbility to support parents in developing positive parenting skillsAppropriate cultural knowledge and understanding of First Nations history, challenges, and protocols is important to deliver effectively in this role.
