About the role Great restaurant memories come from many places. The sights, the sounds, the scents and, most importantly, the service. As a part of the Restaurants and Bars Team, you will welcome our guests, recommend food and drinks and deliver exceptional service, helping to create unforgettable memories!
Your day to day To ensure a seamless guest experience, it's essential to take and process orders accurately, confirming them with the guest for clarity. You should be well-versed in the current menus and beverage lists, actively engaging in upselling and making recommendations while addressing any queries. Additionally, maintaining cleanliness is crucial; not only should you meet hygiene standards, but you should strive to exceed them. Familiarity with stock management and the proper rotation of perishable items is necessary, along with efficiently setting up and packing down the venues you service.
What we need from you You will have a friendly persona with a demonstrated ability to interact with guests and other colleagues in a way which reflects the high level of service expected of the InterContinental brand. You will be well presented with strong communication skills and fluency in the English language. A Queensland valid Responsible Service of Alcohol is required.
Intended commencement date for this position would be the 11th of November 2024, with the role being located on Hayman Island, Queensland.
Appropriate Australian working rights are required for this role.
What we offer The base hourly rate for this position is $25.87 under the Hayman Island Enterprise Agreement, working a minimum of 38 hours per week across a 7-day roster with shifts spanning from early in the morning until later at night.
