The roster is a 5/2/4/3 - 38 hr week, (Monday – Friday, Monday – Thursday).

About the role Due to an internal promotion, we now have a vacancy for a Responsible Tailings Facility Engineer.
The role is solely responsible for identifying foreseeable risks and hazards, ensuring best practice and government regulations, whilst being a part of a larger diverse, and highly collaborative Tailings Team.
The team pride themselves on their wealth of knowledge, improved structure, and proven processes.
We embrace innovation, applying cyclone sands construction methods, comprehensive geological and geotechnical test work, and fundamental science and engineering in identifying business opportunities.
A typical week will involve the following responsibilities: Assisting in the development of the scope of work and budget requirements for the planning, design, construction, operation, maintenance, and closure of tailing facilities.
The key point of contact and liaison between internal and external stakeholders and third-party external reviewers, of all activities required for regulatory compliance.
Continuous improvement of procedures that form part of the safety management system.
Reviewing and endorsing the site-based Tailings Management System, its documentation and record keeping.

About you This is the perfect opportunity to join our team and to hit the ground running from day one with the following skills and attributes: Bachelor level tertiary qualification in Engineering (Geotechnical, Civil, or Mining).
Proven experience working in a mining environment.
5+ years' experience in tailing management systems.
Demonstrated experience and technical knowledge of engineering design principles to provide oversight of the tailings operations.
Experience with budgets and scheduling using first principles.
Strong organization and time management skills.
Experience with Autocad/Muk3 D, and scheduling software (highly desirable).
Be a proactive self-starter who is collaborative.
