This position is in the Respiratory and Sleep Medicine Department.
What you'll be doing

To develop, implement and evaluate asthma education and management interventions for adults with asthma as inpatients and outpatients, particularly following discharge.To develop, implement and evaluate smoking cessation and management interventions for adults as inpatients and outpatients, particularly following discharge.To complete initial applications (including collation of all supporting documentation) for Highly Specialised Drug Program (HSDP) therapies, particularly the biological therapies for severe asthma, but also therapies for cystic fibrosis, progressive pulmonary fibrosis, and narcolepsy.To monitor use of HSDP therapies by patients and complete ongoing applications for these medications in a timely manner.To plan and implement high quality health education/counselling and promotion activities, with regard to smoking cessation education and intervention.Minimum Requirements: Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or relevant experience in appropriate discipline or demonstrated experience in community engagement, health promotion, public health or education.Experience in planning, implementing and evaluating health education/counselling activities.Demonstrated ability in delivery of asthma and smoking cessation interventions.Knowledge of biological medications used for asthma and other respiratory conditions.Knowledge of spirometry, CO measurement, respiratory medications and devices use.Demonstrated excellent team working skills with ability to work using own initiative with a high level of organisational skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience and knowledge of community engagement and health promotion principles.Our CORE Values are Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment and have been created by employees for employees and help define how we work and to inspire positive interactions in the workplace.
