Are you a detail-oriented professional with experience in accounts payable? Join our team as an Accounts Payable Officer! This position is based at our Head Office in either Devonport, Tasmania or Launceston, Tasmania. Respect Group Limited is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to providing high-quality aged care and retirement living services across Tasmania, Victoria, and New South Wales. The Role: As the Accounts Payable Officer, you will play a vital role in managing and executing the accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
Key Responsibilities: Process accounts and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures Verify, classify, and post invoices to the appropriate accounts Ensure that purchases are appropriately approved and match purchase orders Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies with vendors and internal departments Prepare and process payment batches, including wire transfers and cheques Assist with month-end closing processes, including preparing reports and documentation Facilitate communications with vendors related to payment inquiries Maintain accurate records and filing systems for all accounts payable transactions Support process improvements by suggesting enhancements to current procedures Requirements: To be successful in this role you will have:
Proven experience in an accounts payable role Knowledge of accounting principles and practices Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry Familiarity with accounting software and MS Office suite Ability to work independently and as part of a team Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines To be considered for employment with Respect, each candidate must satisfy the legislative requirements of Aged Care Worker Screening to ensure suitability to work in the aged care industry.
