About the Role Through maintaining their proven in-house engineering capabilities, they are experiencing sustained growth and now have a newly created opportunity for a Structural Engineer to join their dynamic and innovative team. To meet the growing demand, this firm is building out the team's capability and you will form part of a multidiscipline engineering team. You will be mentored by the technical Director who holds CPEng in Engineering while based in their corporate head office located in Murarrie, where you get to oversee the river from your desk. This role will see you providing engineering solutions for steel structures, from design, and detailed engineering through to site inspections, installations and repair works. You will provide technical support and oversight of the delivery of multiple projects concurrently.
Key Responsibilities Provide detailed engineering solutions for steel structure projects, while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) utilising Strand7 and/or SolidWorks software. Utilise Solidworks to produce detailed 3D models and manufacture-ready drawing sets. Conduct onsite inspections to identify potential issues or areas of improvement, and provide detailed reporting and recommendations to clients and internal teams. Provide technical support and oversee the delivery of project work across multiple sites, collaborating with project managers, designers, and construction teams to ensure timely and successful completion of projects. Manage the delivery of work in accordance with the design schedule, scope, and budget, using project management tools and methodologies to monitor progress, identify risks, and proactively resolve issues. Collaborate with mechanical and piping design teams to ensure seamless integration of structural components with other systems, identifying potential conflicts or challenges and proposing innovative solutions. Preparation of technical/supporting documentation (certificates, design reports, O&M Manuals, etc.). The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate: Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in structural engineering, ideally in designing structures. Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from a recognized university. Registered or eligible for registration as a Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) and Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ). Demonstrated experience being able to conduct Finite Element Analysis (FEA) utilising Strand7 and/or SolidWorks software. Experience in onsite inspections and providing detailed reporting and recommendations for repairs or upgrades. Knowledge of mechanical and piping design interfaces and ability to coordinate with mechanical engineers and other stakeholders. Excellent time management and prioritisation skills with the ability to work independently and within a team environment. Attention to detail with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
