Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm Located on the tip of the pristine Dampier Peninsula, Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm was established in 1946 and has been open to the public since 2009. The pearl farm is 200km/two hours north of Broome, WA, so you must be prepared to live in a remote environment and as part of a small community.
Our staff are known for their friendly, can-do attitudes, and we are looking for an authentic, passionate person who enjoys interacting with people of all ages to help lead our Hospitality team at Cygnet Bay.
Job Description Summary :
The Resort Manager reports directly to the Tourism Manager and manages and oversees the overall resort operations at Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm. The Resort Manager will be a leader in the day-to-day management of our front office, accommodation, restaurant, land and marine tours, and retail departments.
Essential Functions :
Directing and overseeing reservation, reception, room service and housekeeping activities. Supervising security arrangements, and garden and property maintenance. Planning and supervising bar, restaurant, function and conference activities. Observing liquor, gaming, and other laws and regulations. Assessing and reviewing customer satisfaction. Overseeing accounting and purchasing activities. Ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations. Providing guests with local tourism information, and arranging tours and transportation. Engaging with all tourism departments daily, providing leadership and assistance to optimise operational efficiency. Responsible for practicing, supporting, and promoting high expectations for professionalism, hospitality, customer service, and positive guest interactions. Supervising and directing various guest service departments focused on overnight and day visitor operations. Supervising and directing the operation of housekeeping for our accommodation and camping areas to ensure high-quality outcomes and a great guest experience. Human Resource responsibilities, including recruiting and performance managing supervisors and staff. Quickly responding to and resolving guest complaints and incidents and completing all required reporting documentation. Participating, as requested, in special events at Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm and other associated locations. Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including tour partners, industry, corporate guests, and community. Developing and assisting in enforcing all rules, policies, and procedures. Essential Skills :
A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience and responsibility in a hospitality or similar field, two of which were in a supervisory position directing a multi-level staff. AQF associate degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma (ANZSCO Skill Level 2) in relevant industry or field. Professional demeanour with the ability to positively resolve customer complaints and staff issues. Flexible leadership style to accept, manage, and execute changes in daily routine with competing priorities. Strong computer skills, Microsoft Office programs, email, MYOB and reservation software. Ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment while completing multiple tasks simultaneously. Desirable criteria: Manual driver's license – or MR licence. Experience working/living in a remote location. Experience with in-house bookings/sales systems: RMS, Fareharbor, Swift PoS, and Tower PoS. Position Type & Expected Work Hours :
Annualised Wage, full-time, permanent. 5-day work week, including weekends (approx. 45hr). Position includes food & onsite accommodation inclusive within remuneration package. Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $73,000.00 – $78,000.00 per year
Schedule: Rotating roster. Ability to commute/relocate: Dampier Peninsula, WA 6725: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required). Education: Advanced Diploma / Associate Degree (Required). Experience: Hospitality: 3 years (Required). Work Authorisation: Australia (Required). Work Location: In person
