DescriptionCASPA SERVICES LTD - POSITION VACANCY - Residential Operations Manager - Darwin, NT Make a difference in the lives of children, young people, families, and communities across Darwin, Northern Territory, particularly Aboriginal and culturally and linguistically diverse groupsEvidence and research-based approach that values innovative thought and creativityABOUT THE ROLE We are seeking a dedicated professional to provide comprehensive operational oversight and support to our Darwin Intensive Therapeutic Residential Care (ITRC) program.
This role focuses on supervising and guiding House Coordinators to ensure the delivery of safe and therapeutic care for children and young people.
Additionally, you will lead the establishment of new programs, maintain high standards in residential settings, and contribute to CASPA's overall leadership and operational excellence.
Working with the ITRC model, you will strive to enhance the lives of young people in our Residential Out-of-Home Care program incorporating a therapeutic, trauma-informed approach.
You will help create a home-like environment and tailor your support to the individual needs of each young person.
You will support young people in attaining their educational goals, undertaking extracurricular activities aligned with their interests, and supporting their connection to community and family.
Key Responsibilities Overall operational support and supervision for Darwin residential homes, focusing on leading the House Coordinators to deliver safe, supported therapeutic careProvide guidance, supervision, and support to reports across ITRC programs to ensure adherence to CASPA's values, fostering a culture of compliance and accountabilityOversee the implementation of children and young people's care plans, ensuring effective planning and outcomes through collaboration with House Coordinators and the Allied Health TeamIn collaboration with the Workforce and HR Team to ensure compliance and efficiency in rostering and recruitment practices that align with the SCHADS Award, NES, financial capacity, and industry best practices in delivering therapeutic care, with a strong focus on staff well-being and retentionContribute to the induction and orientation of new frontline staff, ensuring they receive the support necessary for competency and success during their probationary period, including the enhancement of reflective practice initiativesWork with the CASPA Darwin operations team to ensure residential houses have efficient IT, WHS, Quality, and Maintenance systems, supporting staff and creating quality homes for young peopleProvide timely and effective crisis and safety management support to residential programs as necessary, ensuring staff and young people are adequately supported during critical incidentsActively participate as a member of the NT and broader CASPA leadership teams, ensuring all contributions and initiatives align with CASPA's Leadership FrameworkContribute to the work of CASPAAdministration, report writing and compliance responsibilitiesContribute to a positive team cultureCompliance with the WHS ActSkills & Experience Comprehensive understanding of the Children and Young Persons Care and Protection Act and RegulationsFamiliarity with the demands of Statutory Out-of-Home CareAbility to support staff in challenging conditions, including issues related to vicarious trauma.Excellent written and oral communication skillsDemonstrated leadership skills, including conflict resolutionAbility to connect with children and young people who have experienced early childhood trauma and neglectCertificate IV or Diploma in Child, Youth and Family Intervention, Community Services, or Youth Work (or actively working towards the qualification)Capacity to work autonomously, providing alignment with CASPA's Therapeutic Framework and PoliciesAbility to build strong working relationshipsUnderstanding of the intensive nature of working with young people and its potential vicarious impactStrong organisational and time management skillsHOW TO APPLY Please include a current Resume supported by a Cover Letter outlining your suitability for the role and submit your application as soon as possible.
