Hindmarsh Retirement operates independent Living Retirement Villages in Deakin, Lyons and Kambah.
The Role  Although the residents at Hindmarsh Retirement villages live independently, having staff in attendance within the village at all times provides peace of mind.
As a Resident Services Assistant you will have the opportunity to multitask across a number of core duties, including: Communicating with residents & monitoring their wellbeing Respond to emergency calls, provide first and and liaise with emergency services Housekeeping and general cleaning of common areas Food service and dining room duties Ensure a safe working environment by acting as first aid officer & fire evacuation warden Other various duties according to the shift allocation Roster hours We are currently looking for new casuals who have availability to work overnight sleepover shifts and weekends.
Sleepover shifts include a shift that is worked in the evening, and then you will sleepover on site to be on call throughout the night.
Your skills and experience Ideally you will be a person who cares about helping others, and who has experience working with older or disadvantaged people.
You might have previously worked in hospitality, customer service, housekeeping, aged care or security and you are ready for a new challenge.
We also encourage applications from nursing students seeking casual work.
The requirements of this position are: Current First Aid qualification (or willing to obtain this prior to commencing employment) Current Working with Vulnerable People check (or willing to obtain this prior to commencing employment) Good communication and customer service skills Have experience working with, and an understanding of the needs of older people To succeed in this role you must be confident to work independently and respond to first aid emergencies.
