AbCellera is breaking the barriers of conventional drug development to propel antibody-based medicines from target to clinic. We are looking for a Research Scientist for a 15-month contract (maternity leave cover) with experience in antibody/protein engineering to join our multidisciplinary team. This lab-based position offers a great opportunity to help build our capabilities supporting lead antibody identification, optimization, and progression into the clinic.

How You Might Spend Your Days:Analysing and designing antibody sequences (liabilities, humanisation, immunogenicity, homology models, reformatting) using bioinformatic tools.Contributing to the molecular biology team by designing, ordering and cloning monoclonal antibody and antigen genes into expression vectors.Performing biophysical analysis on monoclonal antibodies.Organizing, supporting, and collaborating with other team members to meet project deliverables and timelines.Using an ELN and database management system to compile data, generate reports, and track inventory.Training and mentoring your peers on antibody/protein engineering.Qualifications and Experience:PhD in a relevant field, or a MSc or Honours degree + 5 years of relevant antibody/protein engineering, molecular biology, computational structural biology.Extensive experience in in-silico antibody/protein engineering and structural biology.Expertise in molecular biology techniques.Experience in mammalian cell culture, transfection, and flow cytometry.Proven interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively as a member of a cross-functional team.Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities.We'd Love to Hear From You If:You have experience in antibody/protein engineering from an industry/drug development setting or academia.You are a creative problem solver who believes in teamwork to tackle the most challenging scientific problems.You have great communication skills which are essential to this role.You have demonstrated the ability to manage and track day-to-day tasks with excellent organizational skills.You are able to work in a self-directed manner, demonstrate initiative, and are willing to work flexible hours.What We Offer:Easy transport access.The opportunity to work with an inspired team on challenging problems that matter.An attractive compensation package, including a competitive salary and health, bonus, and lifestyle benefits.15-month contract (maternity leave cover).How to Apply:If you think this could be the role for you, then please apply now via the link, including a cover letter AND a detailed resume (preferably in one document).
