Research Scientist - Agronomy

The Company:Our client provides evidence-based information from R&D projects, often with industry collaboration. The research projects deliver effective, rapid and efficient on-farm management strategies to optimise agronomic management options across the Mid North and Yorke Peninsula regions of South Australia. These include projects that are focused on agronomy, nutrition, weed management, farming systems, and reduced emissions production systems.The research works across multiple projects of varying complexity - with their purpose being to protect, grow and innovate the industry, for the benefit of the broader industry.The Position:In this visible leadership position, the role will be responsible for: People and project managementOverseeing the optimal impact of R&D project deliveryAllocating resources and evaluating research effectivenessStakeholder and industry engagementCoaching and mentoring an established research and extension team - with budgetary oversite and workforce planningThe Person:To be successful in this role, you will ideally possess: Leadership experience of a research team – either functional and/or extension focussedProven credibility and knowledge within agricultural researchSound leadership, communication and organisational skillsRelevant post-graduate tertiary qualifications in scienceA willingness to live in Clare Valley, South AustraliaYou may be currently working in research, or you might be in a leadership role working with a leading research organisation in the private or public sector.  Irrespective of your background, you be passionate about delivering industry leading research to stakeholders in the South Australian grains sector.On Offer:This is a rare opportunity to make a significant contribution to the future of grains industry research in South Australia.
