Base salary will be in the range $111,154 - $124,619+ 17% Superannuation (HEW Level 8)
Based at our Translational Research Institute – Dutton Park
About This Opportunity The primary purpose of this position is to provide strategic and operational support to the Children's Brain Cancer Centre's research activities.
This position will work closely with the Co-Directors & Management Team to manage the strategic growth and objectives of the research program and key partnerships for the Centre.
This position leads all operational business functions, including finance; human resources; postgraduate student administration; resource management; workplace health and safety; and research administration including management of ethics and governance compliance, and grant management and reporting.
The Research Manager/Program Manager works closely with Chief Investigator/s and their research teams to identify, develop, implement and improve outcomes of Children's Brain Cancer Centre.
Key responsibilities will include: Strategic & Research Support: Provide high level support to the Co-Directors & Management Team including overseeing the implementation of the Centre's research strategy and research priorities, including ensuring compliance with policies and procedures for the University and/or Queensland Health, and relevant statutory bodies.
Engagement & Partnerships: Develop knowledge of the Centre's existing partnerships, ambitions and research capabilities and activities to identify opportunities for new collaborations.
Research Management: Support the Co-Directors to develop the direction of the Centre research program, including major input into grant applications and advising on opportunities and strategies for research funding.
About You We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Research Program/Project Manager to manage the successful delivery of the outcomes of the Children's Brain Cancer Centre.
The successful candidate will have significant experience and expertise in research management in a hospital and/or University setting.
Postgraduate qualifications or progress towards postgraduate qualifications and extensive research management experience (preferably in the tertiary education or research sectors); or an undergraduate degree, extensive research management experience and other relevant education/training.
Demonstrated capacity to develop, manage and coordinate research projects in a multidisciplinary environment.
Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with industry personnel and other stakeholders at a senior level.
Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral), with a proven ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences.
Self-motivated with demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Significant experience of working in a hospital and/or University setting.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with proven ability to produce clear, succinct research documentation.
