We deliver high-impact applied research through partnerships with government, industry, civil society, and the international research community.
We seek applications from talented and dynamic individuals passionate about research for sustainability and social justice. The role involves leading research projects focused on climate change adaptation and resilience in Asia and the Pacific. The projects commonly include technical, institutional, economic, and social dimensions, such as gender equality and social inclusion, and are intended to support our clients and partners to improve their evidence-based climate change and resilience policy and practice. You will benefit from the opportunity to lead project teams of exceptional senior researchers in the international development sector.
We would like to hear from applicants with a passion to contribute to climate change action, social justice, and sustainable development, and an ability to take a flexible and team-oriented approach. Working in teams and with international partners (other academic institutions, NGOs, private sector, and government), you will use your knowledge of current climate change and resilience technical and policy issues, and best practices relating to sustainability research. You will draw on your strong research experience, networks in the climate change and international development sector, facilitation, and communication skills to create positive change through engaged, impactful research. Suitable applicants will demonstrate well-developed research skills and experience, including a relevant Master's degree, as well as strong research, analytical, critical thinking, and writing skills. We are looking for applicants who have a genuine passion for sustainability, concern for climate justice, and commitment to localisation of climate change action, excellent project management skills, and a keenness to learn and contribute within a team.
At Level B, the role includes a requirement to secure research funding/income. Applicants with strong networks in the international development sector and experience in securing applied research grants are encouraged to apply.
Remuneration Level B Research Principal - $121,566 - $143,880 The university offers 17% employer-provided superannuation and salary packaging opportunities. This appointment will be on a Two-Year Full-Time Fixed term basis.
