This role can be based in either Townsville Cairns, Mackay or Brisbane.The Research Officer will play a crucial role in supporting the implementation and evaluation of a community-based research project focused on understanding and addressing the challenges faced by carers in the Far-North Queensland and Mackay Region. Reporting to the General Manager, the Research Officer will be responsible for various aspects of the project, including data collection, analysis, community engagement, and strategic planning.Your responsibilities:Data Collection and Analysis:Conduct surveys, interviews, and focus group discussions to gather qualitative and quantitative data on carer experiences, service utilization, and community needs.Manage data collection processes, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with ethical guidelines.Analyze collected data using appropriate statistical and qualitative analysis techniques.Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations summarizing research findings and recommendations.Community Engagement and Co-design:Facilitate community engagement workshops and co-design sessions in collaboration with local stakeholders, community leaders, and carers.Build and maintain positive relationships with community members to foster trust and participation in research activities.Incorporate community feedback and insights into the development of tailored support strategies.Project Planning and Coordination:Assist in the development of project plans, timelines, and deliverables.Coordinate logistics for fieldwork, including travel arrangements, venue bookings, and equipment procurement.Collaborate with project team members to ensure the smooth implementation of project activities.Strategic Planning and Stakeholder Engagement:Contribute to the development of tailored support strategies based on research findings and community needs assessments.Engage with external stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and service providers, to align project objectives and leverage resources and expertise.Participate in stakeholder meetings, workshops, and conferences to disseminate research findings and promote collaboration.Bachelor's or Master's degree in social sciences, public health, community development, or a related field.Proven experience in conducting community-based research, including data collection, analysis, and report writing.Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders, including community members, government agencies, and non-profit organizations.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate complex information to diverse audiences.Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.Knowledge of ethical guidelines and best practices in research ethics and data management.Experience working in remote or Indigenous communities and an understanding of cultural sensitivities and protocols is highly desirable.Proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., SPSS, NVivo) and Microsoft Office suite.Please note:Regular travel towill be required, as suchyou must be comfortable with travelling by road and on occasion, light aircraft, and possess a current unrestricted Australian Driver's Licence.The details:Duration: approx 6 monthsSalary: $90,000 to $110,000 (pro rata) commensurate with experience.Travel: all associated travelling involved in this role will be covered by NWRH.Please note:You must have the right to live and work in Australia to be considered for this role;All final applicants for this position will be asked to consent to a criminal record check and obtain a QLD Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening Check C ard.You willneed a current, unrestricted 'C' class Australian Driver's Licence;Indigenous Australians arestrongly encouraged to apply#J-18808-Ljbffr
