Based in Herston, Brisbane and working in close collaboration with clinicians and other research institutes, QIMR Berghofer is home to more than 600 scientists, students and non-research staff.About the Translational Neurogenomics Laboratory:The Translational Neurogenomics Laboratory has identified genetic risk factors for a range of neuropsychiatric conditions, including substance use disorders, schizophrenia, depression, obsessive compulsive disorder, and Alzheimer's disease. Our current work focuses on translating genetic findings to clinically useful applications. The two key areas of research include: 1) Obtaining an improved understanding of relations between psychiatric disorders and symptoms through phenotypic and genetic modelling; and 2) Identifying more effective treatment for mental health disorders through the identification of compounds that target genetic risk factors.The successful candidate will join this highly productive team as a postdoctoral researcher. You will have the opportunity to pursue your own research interests, which are aligned with one or both of the key areas of research as defined above.The Translational Neurogenomics Laboratory offers an inclusive, supportive, and positive work environment.Role Purpose / Responsibilities:Your role includes the development of statistical and computational approaches and the applications of these methods to large scaled datasets, including UK Biobank, All of Us, etc. Current areas of interest are integration of genetic and molecular data, drug repurposing, and Genomic Structural Equation Modelling.You will be encouraged to develop and pursue your own independent research interests and will be given the opportunity to (further) develop your leadership skills.You will contribute to the supervision of Undergraduate and PhD students.You will contribute to international collaborative studies, such as those of the Psychiatric Genomics ConsortiumAbout you:The successful applicant will possess a PhD (or is close to obtaining such a degree) in Statistics/Biostatistics, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, genetic epidemiology, or other relevant discipline with a strong quantitative research background.You will have experience with analysing genetic data from large biobanks (e.g., UK Biobank, AllofUs, or other large-scale genetic datasets)You will have experience with conducting GWAS or post-GWAS analysesYou will be able to work within a team, while also independently developing your own research interests and skillsYou will have excellent communication and organisational skills; and good attention to detail.You enjoy working in a diverse and inclusive environment.Preference will be given to applicants with a very good publication record relative to opportunity.Remuneration:

Salary range is $92,403 to $123,770 p.a. plus super and salary packaging. This is a full-time appointment for 3 years. Salary will be determined on qualifications and experience.To submit an application:
