0.6 FTE role for 1 year based at Westmead Hospital and Camperdown campus Work closely with the leaders of the projects to evaluate capacity & capability initiatives Base Salary $99,455 + 17% superannuation About the opportunity This position will work with the Conjoint Associate Professor of Allied Health (WSLHD and University of Sydney) to develop and evaluate capacity and capability initiatives targeted at health professionals and researchers working in Western Sydney Local Health District and other health partner organisations of Sydney Health Partners.
Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) provides a diverse range of public healthcare to more than 946,000 residents in Sydney's west. The LHD community comes from diverse economic, social, and cultural backgrounds providing a fertile environment to develop and implement innovative models of healthcare and research. WSLHD employs more than 13,000 staff including >1400 allied health professionals.
Sydney Health Partners (SHP) is an NHMRC-accredited Research Translation Centre and is a collaboration between five major health services, the University of Sydney and 10 affiliated medical research institutes. The SHP Implementation Science Academy was established in 2023, building on SHP's existing implementation science program. The Academy delivers a range of capacity and capability initiatives including monthly seminars, symposiums and Masterclasses.
The Research Officer provides essential operational support to ensure the efficient implementation of project plans, activities, and tasks across Allied Health Department in WSLHD and the capacity and capability initiative of the SHP Implementation Science Academy. This role is pivotal in coordinating project stakeholders and fostering effective communication to achieve project deliverables on time and within scope. With a focus on operational excellence, the Research Officer supports various phases of project development, contributing to the overall success of project goals.
Working under broad supervision, the Research Officer is responsible for selecting appropriate work methods, planning, and prioritizing tasks to ensure smooth project execution. They handle routine matters independently and collaborate with others to address more complex challenges, ensuring that project outcomes are delivered effectively.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
Conduct qualitative and quantitative research to evaluate the impact of capacity and capability initiatives across WSLHD and SHPs.Lead and contribute to ethics applications to support clinician research and evaluation of capacity and capability initiatives.Contribute to education and training programs designed to improve clinician skills and knowledge, ensuring alignment with project objectives.Leverage your healthcare/education background to provide valuable insights and guidance throughout the project lifecycle.Coordinate project resources, including technology, equipment, and physical workspaces, ensuring the seamless initiation and progress of projects.Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, fostering collaboration and ensuring effective communication across all project stages.About you Hold a Bachelor's degree in a relevant health or education field or possess an equivalent combination of relevant training and experience.
Experienced in both qualitative and quantitative research methods, with a strong ability to engage with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
Demonstrated experience in project coordination, including managing multiple projects at one time.
Highly organised, with strong communication and time management skills, capable of effectively collaborating across health and university systems.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with excellent attention to detail and numeracy skills to support project data analysis and reporting.
A strong team player with the ability to work collaboratively, fostering productive relationships and ensuring project objectives are met.
Ability to work in the office (at Westmead and Camperdown campus) as needed for specific project tasks and meetings.
