About our Centre CREDO (Centre for Research and Education in Diabetes and Obesity) is located at the Repatriation Hospital Campus of Austin Health and is tiered within the Medical Services Division. CREDO has a strong and successful history in conducting numerous clinical trials in metabolic disorders with a majority of trials focusing on diabetes and obesity. CREDO continues to grow and thrive, enabling another exciting opportunity for a Research Officer to join the team in a part-time fixed term position (16 Hours per week).
About the role The successful applicant will become part of an established team and will be responsible for bringing technical expertise to ensure the quality and accuracy of data, then process, design and present it in such a way that enhances any research projects being undertaken by the CREDO Unit. The role involves delivery of direct and in-direct clinical-trial-related care of patients, associated data collection and maintenance of essential trial documents for concurrent studies.
Duties/Responsibilities Assisting with writing grant applications and publications.Support research projects, such as data extraction and analysis, statistical analysis, literature searches, organising research meetings, liaising with national and international collaborators.Preparation, coordination and submission of ethics applications, amendments and reports.Liaison with research doctors, nurses, clinical trial coordinators and administrative staff within CREDO.About you As the Research Officer, you will be someone who has excellent communication skills, with a strong commitment to excellence in patient care. You'll bring energy and drive to your work and have a keen interest in developing your skillset.
To be successful in this role, you'll bring with you:
A Bachelor's, Honors, or Master's degree (LvA) or PhD in a relevant area of medical or biological science.Deep understanding of systematic reviews of interventions and/or critical appraisal of randomised controlled trials.Demonstrated ability to apply systematic review methodologies, such as article screening, data extraction, risk of bias, and meta-analysis.Culture The atmosphere within CREDO is energetic, friendly and cohesive, with a strong teamwork ethic amongst all members.
